A Knight to Remember

Once again, the Calgary Academy Gala was a sold out affair! This year's theme, "Come Play With Us", aimed to raise funds for new playground equipment and was a huge success. Not only did the silent auction yield great results, but the live auction was very successful as well thanks to our Auctioneer, Bill Brown of the Calgary Remarketing Centre. The theme baskets especially, sponsored by each homeroom in the school, were highly coveted items.

The evening was filled with many highlights beyond the auction. Scorcher and the Cheerleaders were the official greeters, and thanks to them the evening started off great. Calgary Academy's very own Concert Band delighted everyone with their outstanding arrangements. The Gala Video illustrated Calgary Academy values by portraying the growth of our students from Grade 2 to 12. And, of course, the cuisine provided by the Glencoe Club was outstanding.

We would like to thank Tinhorn Creek Estate Winery for providing the wine for all the tables and openers as table gifts. Gerber centerpiece daisies graced the table settings and we thank Office Greenary Products for their continued support. Thanks to CinnZeo Bakeries for the decadent rolls. Thank you to all of our generous donors for their incredible support. And special thanks to our diligent and amazing Gala Committee: Karen Angus, Donalda Bentham, Kim Buchanan, Tina Chaput, Jim Chaput, Cindy Culmer, Steffanie Gryckiewicz, Peter Istvanffy, Klara Meyers, Barb Shaunessy, Sharon Stankiewicz and Laurie Wolfe.
