- Founded in 1981, Calgary Academy has educated more than 4,000 students from across Alberta and is now recognized as a leader in specialized academic programming. Calgary Academy employs over 120 educational professionals and provides programs to over 625 students from Grades 2-12.
-
At Calgary Academy, every child learns and achieves success. Our programs and faculty are dedicated to uncovering and tapping the intelligence and talents of each student.
- Calgary Academy's teaching principles and practices are based on twenty-five years of front-line experience. Our practical and custom-tested methods are influenced by the latest research on human intelligence, cognitive development, and learning disabilities.
- All students have their own customized curricula, strategies, and materials based on their strengths and weaknesses. Students are constantly engaging in their own education as they learn how to learn and what to learn. This enables them to become strong critical thinkers, problem solvers, independent learners, and advocates for their own needs in the world.
-
We turn around the lives of children who have failed in public and private schools, and provide them with a promising future. Without Calgary Academy, many of these students might have never had the chance to complete high school, let alone attend college. Over 98% of Calgary Academy students graduate with a high school diploma and more than 90% pursue post-secondary education within a year of graduation.
- Calgary Academy's primary goals are: to maximize each student's academic
performance, to teach independent work habits and to develop transferable
skills, improve pro-social and self-advocacy skills, and to raise self-confidence
and self-esteem.
